Original Peyton Place Motion Picture Score

Composed by Franz Waxman and recorded in December 1957, this outstanding score is an essential addition to any collection. In addition to composing the Peyton Place score, Franz Waxman also conducted the orchestra performance for this beautiful recording.

Released on the RCA label, this soundtrack is hard to find, particularly now that a newer interpretation has become available (see the next section below).

New Recording of the Peyton Place Score

A new interpretation of Franz Waxman's Peyton Place score, performed by Frederic Talgorn and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, was recorded at City Halls, Glasgow, on September 13, 1999. The recording was released on the Varese Sarabande label on June 27, 2000.

This new recording is a great companion to the original RCA score, extending the original by almost nine minutes.
